Note: Once students have selected a region, they are required to maintain continuity with this selection throughout all subsequent mini-tasks and their final project. Changing the selected region after mini-task 1 is strictly prohibited. Any deviation from the initial selection will result in penalties during the final project phase.
A. English Component
B. Spanish Component
A. English Component ✍️ Conduct thorough research on the chosen location.
Gather information about its history, significance, attractions, amenities, events, and any other relevant details that will help you make a compelling argument. Then, write a paragraph (100-150 words) introducing the place and its significance. Don't forget to include two or three images.
Write in English the Spanish response and I'll record the video in Spanish.
B. Spanish Component Record a 2-3-minute video aimed at convincing others to visit your chosen place. Incorporate persuasive techniques such as emotional appeal, logical reasoning, vivid imagery, rhetorical questions, and appeals to authority or social proof to strengthen your argument. Consider including the following elements: Introduction | Begin with a captivating hook to grab the reader's attention. Description | Provide vivid descriptions of the sights, sounds, smells, and atmosphere of the place. Paint a picture that immerses the reader in the experience. Attractions and Experiences | Highlight the unique attractions and experiences that visitors can enjoy at the place. Discuss any special events, exhibits, activities, or amenities that make it stand out. Benefits | Explain the benefits of visiting the place, such as relaxation, entertainment, education, cultural enrichment, or culinary delights. Testimonials | Include quotes or testimonials from visitors, reviews, or experts to add credibility and support to your argument. Call to Action | End with a strong call to action, urging readers to visit the place and experience its wonders for themselves. Remember that you are still a beginner/intermediate Spanish-speaker, so errors are expected. The objective is to create a video with informal, spontaneous, original speech in Spanish, so you should not be overly concerned with accuracy! These videos are to help you build comfort with expressing your thoughts and feelings in Spanish, so be creative, be original, and be yourself. Do NOT create/read from a script for this assignment.
